Frequently Asked Questions

Finding a new practitioner can be overwhelming.  Here are some questions and answers to help you along the way!

Roots and Realms FAQ

What is your cancellation policy?

I have a 24 hour cancellation policy which means that those who cancel within 24 hours of their appointment are required to pay the full session fee out of pocket.  Late cancellations can be rescheduled for a $25 fee as long as the request for a new appointment is made within 24 hours of the missed appointment.  Please feel free to read the client service agreement or practice polices form provided during your intake for more information.

How do I pay?

I accept all major credit cards, cash, and checks! I recommend that clients sign up for autopay using credit card at the start of our appointments for ease. For American clients there may be a small international processing fee depending on your provider. All card processing fees and international processing fees have been factored into my fee schedule.

Do you provide private or public health rebates?

Not at this time, however I am hoping to in the near future. I have a limited number of sliding scale options for those who are eligible as an alternative.

What is the difference between Counselling and Holistic Mentorship

Here are the key differences between Counselling and Holistic Mentorship. Counselling: For emotional and psychological wellbeing. Counselling is a space to explore your inner world, relationships, emotions, patterns, and the experiences that are shaping your life. My approach is relational, psychodynamic, somatic, and mindfulness-informed, with the therapeutic relationship itself becoming an important part of our work. Holistic Mentorship: For deeper self-exploration, meaning, and personal transformation. Mentorship offers a broader space for exploring questions of identity, spirituality, purpose, embodiment, and personal transformation. Depending on your needs, this may include spiritual direction, psychedelic integration, energy-based practices, or other holistic approaches that fall outside the scope of clinical counselling. If you are unsure which service would be best for you, I have a short series of questions I will ask to help you clarify which direction would be best for you.

Do you meet with clients in person?

As of now I do not host therapy sessions in an office. I work with clients through video calls or during Nature-based Walk & Talk sessions. Walk and Talk sessions can become a distinct and powerful tool within therapeutic process when used intentionally. Please read my Walk & Talk Therapy page for more information on what those sessions can look like.
